Dip-Rinsing: A 2% solution of VERSENE* 100 chelating agent with the pH adjusted to 4.0-6.0 serves as a universal rinse in plating and cleaning operations. For example, the use of VERSENE 100 in a copper-nickel-chrome plating sequence eliminated drag-in and contamination of succeeding plating baths. The rinse solution is more effective at elevated temperatures.

Oxide Prevention: A solution of 25-30% VERSENE 100 with the pH adjusted to 7.0 can be effective as a dip or spray treatment for freshly cleaned aluminum surfaces to reduce oxide formation during storage. A water rinse then provides a clean aluminum surface for subsequent fabrication.
